Our monthly CF blog is here!

Good day to our WH CrossFit Family

Welcome to our new official CF blog! As our family continues to grow, we wanted to create a monthly blog to keep you in the loop with all things WH and global CF, and also to create a space to shout out the amazing achievements of our community members and coaches.

A Season of Achievements and New Beginnings

As we approach summer, it’s the perfect time to reflect on the incredible journey we've shared over the past few months. Your dedication, enthusiasm, and hard work have been truly inspiring, and we have a lot to celebrate!

CrossFit Open 2024: A Remarkable Journey

Well done to everyone who participated in the 2024 CrossFit Open. Your commitment to pushing your limits and supporting each other was evident in every workout. We saw remarkable performances across the board, with many of you smashing PB’s and breaking mental barriers.

Congrats to those who made the quarter finals. Making it to this stage is no small feat and reflects countless hours of training and dedication. You’ve set a high standard for our community, and we couldn’t be prouder.
Myself and wife Nicola competed at the Semi’s in South Africa on the 31st May - 2nd June. We want to thank you for support so far, I can’t wait to share more of the event when back.

Introducing SugarWOD: Enhancing Our Training Experience

We are excited to announce the integration of SugarWOD into our training program. This platform will revolutionise how we track our progress, connect with each other, and improve our workouts. Here’s why adding your scores to SugarWOD is crucial:

1. Progress Tracking: By logging your scores, you can monitor your progress over time. Seeing your improvements will keep you motivated and help you set new goals.

2. Community Engagement: Sharing your results allows you to interact with fellow members. You can cheer each other on, celebrate PRs, and provide support and encouragement.

3. Personal Accountability: Recording your workouts helps keep you accountable to your fitness goals. It’s a great way to ensure you stay consistent and dedicated.

4. Coaching Insights: Your logged scores give our coaches valuable insights into your performance. This information helps them tailor their guidance to better suit your needs.

To get started, download the SugarWOD app, join our gym’s community, and start logging your workouts. Your participation will make our community stronger and more connected than ever.

Booking Classes: Thank You for Your Efforts

A reminder to book into all your favorite classes in advance. Classes can be super busy so this helps us manage the class capacity, equipment, and above all safety. We encourage all members to continue booking their classes through the app to help with a smoother and more enjoyable class experience for all.

This one’s for The Ladies

Our Ladies class has taken strides over the past year and is growing nicely. You can catch Candice and our wonderful ladies CF community in Al Quoz every weekday, MON - THURS @ 7:15pm & FRI @ 4PM

“MURPH”

Al Quoz, Ibn Battuta and Business Bay hosted the annual Hero WOD "Murph” last weekend. This challenging workout, named after Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy, consists of a 1-mile run, 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, 300 squats, and another 1-mile run, all while wearing a 20 lb vest or body armor. It’s a demanding test of endurance and strength, but also a powerful way to come together and honor a hero. Congratulations to everyone who joined us for the workout, once again, your grit and support towards one another throughout the workout truly blew us away. We’re looking forward to what next years Murph brings!

Summer of Fitness & Fun

As usual, we will run a skeleton schedule over the Eid holiday but all classes will run as normal over Summer. If you’re travelling or staying local make sure to keep going, consistency is the glue that holds all the hard work together.

Till the next one,

Till the next one,
